The first step would be to unbox the device and check if all the accessories have come along with the device. Then connect the device to the power using the USB cable and the adaptor. If you are connecting the device to the TVs USB port for power, then you can skip the USB adaptor. Then you will have to connect the Go.Roku.com device to the TV’s HDMI port.
After this, you’d have to change the TVs input from TV AV to HDMI. If you have more than one HDMI ports on your TV, please select the one the Roku device is connected to. After this, you should see the Roku screen on the TV.
How to connect Roku to the internet?
If you are going to connect the Roku device to the internet via a wired connection, please connect the Roku device to the internet router using the modem. You cannot have a wired internet connection if you own a Roku Streaming Stick or a RSS+.
All the devices have options to connect the Roku device to the internet via a wireless connection. To do this, once the Roku screen appears on the TV, please go ahead and go to the Roku menu. In there, please select the network preferences, and go to the WiFi menu. In there, Roku will list all the WiFi connections in its range, and from there, you can choose to connect to your internet. If your WiFi is a password protected connection, then you can connect the device to the internet by entering the password.
How to search for a channel in your Roku device?
Now that you have the internet connection, login to your Go.Roku.com account. If you have channels on your Roku account already, you will be able to stream them from here. If you want to download new channels, then you have to go to the go.roku.com channel store. Please note that these are steps for installation of public channels and not private ones.
Go to the Roku channel store and search for the channel name. From the search result, please go ahead and select the channel. Click on the menu button and select the download option. Once the channel has been added to the list of your channels, you can start streaming the channel.

You can also install Roku in your smartphone and use the application to search for, add or delete channels to your go.roku.com account. You can also use it as a virtual remote to control your Roku device.
